Job Title: Church Musician
Seeking a part-time pianist for our worship services and occasionally weddings and funerals (additional compensation provided for these services).
Qualifications: The ability to perform as accompanist for choir and soloists. The ability to work smoothly with the pastor and Vocal Music Director. To be available for choir practices and worship services, so as to meet the needs of this congregation.
Basic Duties (not a complete list): Provide worship music to include a prelude, postlude, offertory and other music requested by the pastor or Vocal Music Director. Accompany choir at rehearsals, generally Thursday evenings, and Sunday worship services starting at 10AM (generally arriving 30 minutes prior). Accompany special worship services which can include Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve. At times, coordinate music selections with the pastor and/or Vocal Music Director. When a substitute is needed, find a fill-in. Piano maintenance and tuning with direction and input from the Spiritual Growth Team. Honor the Christian faith and worship experience. Familiarity with hymns and other Christian music.
Accountability: This position is directly accountable to the Pastor, in addition to the Spiritual Growth Team and Session and works in coordination with the Vocal Music Director.
Salary: This is a bi-weekly paid position, with a yearly range of $8,000-$12,000, based upon a per event rate determined by skill level. An Audition is part of the interview process.
