Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts, Theater Management or related degree
Knowledge of department and college policies, procedures and practices with the ability to answer work.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discreet judgment.
Maintains records of all usage fees and financial bookkeeping.
Experience with face-to-face customer service and excellent verbal and writing skills.
Knowledge of theater, box office and concession operation.
Working knowledge of techniques and methods of stage, lighting, sound and communications design, installation and preparation for theatrical or related performances.
Ability to design, operate and maintain technical lighting and sound equipment and systems.
Ability to provide event management and technical assistance for college sponsored events where required.
Knowledge of electronics, stage equipment, rigging and audio-visual media.
Knowledge of computerized and manual stage lighting control systems.
Strong understanding of event management as it pertains to the logistical aspect of a multipurpose venues operation so as to be able to effectively communicate and work alongside numerous vendors and organizations as it relates to theatrical style and non-theatrical style events.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Knowledge and use of proper lifting techniques.
Ability to provide technical guidance and input into the technical operations of the Griffin Centre.
Ability to safely operate and maintain technical theatre tools and equipment.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Physical Requirements:

Education:

Work Experience Preferred:
3-5 years’ experience in coordinating, producing, and directing performing arts events, activities, or a combination of education commensurate with the requirement of the position.
Experience in providing technical support for performing artists including lighting, sounds, set design, construction, etc., preferred
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a public setting.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Position Description
Description:
This position manages the day-to-day operations of the performance and rental spaces of the Dr. Griffin Centre on the campus of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. This includes but is not limited to Building and Event Management, daily operations of the Box Office, coordination of ticket sales for events, negotiation of contracts between performers/agents and presenters and conferencing with potential rental clients. Must be able to communicate effectively with students, college personnel, patrons and community groups; advanced oral and written communication and presentation skills are essential.
Examples of Duties:
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Oversees management and develops policies and procedures relating to Box Office and Front of House operations.
2. Serves as primary contact and information source for all who utilize or wish to utilize the facility.
3. Completes all rental and internal usage contracts.
4. Provides the business office with all necessary financial data as needed and required.
5. Completes all documentation necessary to ensure timely payments to all vendors.
6. Completes reconciliation reports at the close of ticketed events.
7. Coordinates and oversees load-in, set-up, run and strike for all theatrical events where necessary.
8. Coordinates and oversees all staffing for each event.
9. Manages building tours and private rentals.
10. Maintains information on annual patron visitation.
11. Interfaces with local organizations and business partners on event planning and implementation.
12. Work alongside the local school systems during the planning and implementation of their special events.
13. Manages concessions including training, budget and vendor management.
14. Serves as administrator for Box Office Software vendor, manages webpage development with HCC Information Systems, responsible for the audience database for coordinated efforts with the campus public relations and marketing director, HCC Foundation and external clients.
15. At the discretion of the HCC President and Vice President's Offices, assist in the coordination of major events within the campus. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing logistics, site coordination, partnering with marketing and other campus stakeholders.
16. Directs all advance work with artists and users, from hospitality and scheduling to technical and front of house support, making advance arrangements and coordinating campus support services including but not limited to Maintenance Staff, Director of Security and others needed to successfully execute an event.
17. Works alongside the maintenance department with building up keep and repair.
18. Manages the development and work with the HCC Webmaster on the maintenance of the webpage.
19. Schedules and coordinates with local schools and the community on participation in selected events.
20. Organize and maintain the areas related to the performing arts, green room, dressing rooms, make-up rooms and other areas as assigned.
21. Assist with room set up for internal and external facility requests for The Griffin Centre.
22. Perform assigned responsibilities, duties and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques and standards in a safe and efficient manner and with minimal supervision.
23. Serve on campus wide committees as needed.
24. Provide learning and mentoring opportunities for students during the school year.
25. Schedule the work duties of student workers, volunteers or part-time help as needed.
26. Ability to work a flexible work schedule that includes early mornings, evenings and weekends.
27. Other duties as assigned by the President and Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Advancement.
