Job Summary:
This job is responsible, under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, for providing quality practical nursing care that is focused on the comfort and well-being of the patient and family consistent with the scope of licensed practice and the standards/procedures of the Franciscan Health System (FHS). Employees perform practical nursing care tasks, carry out routine aspects of the designated nursing regimen, participate in patient care planning, assist with and/or perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, report/document observations of patients, and assist in maintaining an optimum physical and emotional environment for assigned patients.
Work requires an understanding of patient care planning and practice, skill in the preparation/administration of medications, knowledge of physical and emotional reactions to a variety of treatment procedures and skill in maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients and multi-disciplinary team members.
