Summary

Part-time Security Officers are responsible for the physical security of the facility. Inspect and control people and vehicles entering and leaving the facility, log truck traffic as it enters and exits the grounds, perform a preliminary investigation, and write the reports, operate plant switchboard and two-way radio equipment.

Responsibilities

Check identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and team members and verify their authorization to into the facility. Check all carry-in items such as bags, briefcases, toolboxes, lunchboxes, etc. Inspect all motor vehicles driven in and out of the plant and log all truck traffic. Conduct preliminary investigations of accidents, thefts, workplace violence, and other such incidents and write the report on the findings. Walk the plant grounds and parking lot to check the security of the physical facility. Investigative skills are helpful but not required. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications are needed. Requires excellent human relations and communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully with all team members, visitors, and contractors. Must have the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion keeping information confidential. Able to work independently with little to no direct supervision.

Requirements

Resume is required and must contain contact information, relative work experience/history, skills, and educational information. High school diploma or equivalent required. Position requires a valid drivers' license.
