Work in the school system as a substitute. You can substitute as a teacher or teacher aide. You can work as sub in the dining room or as a custodian. If you go to the website of the local school board, you will normally find announcements of forthcoming job fairs. It is usually held during the summer. The school boards in various geographic locations have job fairs for workers independent sub.
They also have a short training session to let you know what to expect. They let you know how you will be notified of job vacancies and other relevant information when you work as a sub going to work part time; when someone is out, sick, etc.
Work in the Elections Office. You can try to work with the Elections Office at election time. You can call the Elections Office at any time for more information. This is something you can do once or twice a year or possibly every two years. You work when there is any choice, if it is a local or presidential election. Work is not hard. The only problem is that it is usually one to three days of work. But the days are at least 8 hours. Sometimes they work longer hours than that. The types of positions available are poll workers, telephone workers or workers absentee ballot.
If you work in the polls you can take information from voters, or may be parked in the voting machines. If you are the man chosen for phones that will be answering questions from voters and give instructions. Working on the absentee ballot is a sitting job. To count the ballots and make sure all information is correct. Also, before the election worker absentee ballot envelopes containing the ballots things to be mailed.
It's an interesting job that you work in the area is not hard work, but you have to pay close attention to what they are doing. And it's a good feeling to know that they are working for an important cause.
Rent gumball machine. This part-time job takes a little money to start with. You can buy used machines and move slowly. Use the money you make away from your first two or three machines to invest in buying another computer. Keep buying a machine until you have the number you want. We started with 15 new machines. Purchase of new machines was a mistake for us. You can buy candy in bulk from Sam's Club or another club shop. The good thing about this is that for about two days work per month you can make about $ 250 to $ 350 profit out of 15 machines. Not bad for a couple of days of work.
Go to different businesses in your area that has a lot of traffic. Ask if you can create a gumball machine. One would get five or six answers before getting a final yes. Check your machines once a month. Be friendly when you go to fill the machines.
